FAQs

It has been way too long since we've been able to get together on the court, but that is about to change! We are excited to announce that we are moving forward with a modified program for 2022! This season, we will be offering a 4-week program for boys and girls in grade K-3rd. The season will have a different format and be somewhat abbreviated. This will allow athletes and families to experience basketball and the story of Jesus in a new and dynamic way.

Why are you offering a modified program?

Due to the uncertainty of COVID, we believe our 2 greatest challenges heading into the winter are volunteers and building occupancy. In past seasons, we needed 125+ volunteers and could easily have 1,500 + people moving through our facility on any given Saturday. A modified season allows us to address both of these concerns for this coming season.

What is included in the registration?

  • A REACH Cinch bag.
  • Reversible Jersey
  • A copy of The Jesus Storybook Bible

What will this season look like?

The season will take place over 4 Saturdays:

  • Week 1: Saturday, February 5
  • Week 2: Saturday, February 12
  • Week 3: Saturday, February 19
  • Week 4: Saturday, February 26

Weeks 1-3 will be focused on player development through skills and drills. Week 4 will allow the participants to experience the competitive  challenge of a 3 on 3 tournament.

How long will each of the skills and drills sessions be?

Each skills and drills session will be 1 hour and 30 minutes.  We will run sessions from 8:30am-10:00am and 10:30am-12:00noon.

How will the skills and drills time be broken down?

We will rotate every 7-8 minutes through a number of different stations which will focus on specific skill development for 1 hour.  The last 20-30 minutes will be devoted to pick-up games for the participants to learn the basic concepts of game play.

How will you divide age/grade/gender into groups?

We will separate groups based on gender and grade level. K-1st graders will be in one session and 2nd-3rd graders will be in the other session.

  • K-1st Grade Boys: 8:30-10:00am in the Activity Center
  • K-1st Grade Girls: 8:30-10:00am in the Main Church Gym
  • 2nd-3rd Grade Boys: 10:30am-12noon in the Activity Center
  • 2nd-3rd Grade Girls: 10:30am-12noon in the Main Church Gym.

How will teams be formed for the 3 on 3 tournament?

We will evaluate talent throughout the skills and drills time to create evenly matched teams.

Will there be any COVID restrictions?

As we all know, recommendations are ever-changing.  Our current plan is that we are limiting attendance to allow for more space between families.  As of now, mask wearing will be optional.  Furthermore, we will seek to improve airflow through the gym with fans.

Do I have to attend Davisville Church in order to participate?

No. Davisville Church is an organizational partner; as always, the league is open to everyone.

Are you offering Cheer this year?

Unfortunately we are not having a cheer program for the 2022 modified season. We hope to offer a cheer program in future seasons, and if you know of any people interested in being a Reach Sports Cheer Coach/Volunteer, or if you have any questions/concerns regarding Reach's cheer program, please email:      info@reachsports.com.
